An artist, founder and editor of the “Partizaning” project, an author of several publications and projects focused on urban art and culture. Author of the first book about street art “Art and the City”. Laureate of The Sergey Kuryokhin Contemporary Art Award. As the artist he works mostly in public space by urban interventions and performance. Art and the City.

Russian edition of the book ‘Art and the city’ («Искусство и город») describes the main directions and trends in the development of social engaged urban art since the early twentieth century to the present day. In Russian this is the first printed researching, claiming to be a complete analysis of the global phenomenon of street art, which includes a global context the situation in Russia.

The author attempts an extensive interdisciplinary analysis of the phenomenon of street art, moving away from the general perception of it as a stream of beautiful bright images on city walls and in the news stream on social networks, isolating in this art something bigger, more connected with issues of freedom, power, hierarchies, the high and the low, the centre and the periphery, with the development of urban environment, politics, and much more.
