Arttour. Masterpieces on streets of Moscow

From 18th of May till 18th of October 2008 in the center of Moscow it was be possible to admire museum masterpieces — works of Botticelli, Rembrandt, Henri Matisse, Vincent Van Gogh and other artists. For some time these pictures “left” their “house” — Pushkin State Museum of Fine Arts. On house walls, boulevards and squares people had a look at copies of masterpieces at first site practically undistinguishable from the originals. More then 50 top-quality copies were made using latest technologies in large-format printing.
“The idea of the project is that the art itself began to look for it’s spectators. It will rush into their daily life, reminding about treasures of the world culture which is very near to them. The main thing is that people could get sight of pictures and stop near them. Interested person could immediately connect with museum, listen and download on the mobile device information about a picture. And if even one person who hasn’t ever thought about pictures before will come to the museum to get acquainted with the exposition, it means we have achieved our goal,” — tells the author of the project Alexander von Busch.
