Bus stop

The installation was realized in 2020 in Nizhny Novgorod Region

The installation consists of a bus stop specially built in a natural landscape in the Nizhny Novgorod region. Its visuals are internationally and intergenerationally familiar; a simple architectural solution leaves no doubt as to its functional purpose — the construction seems made to shelter people from rain or wind while they are waiting for a bus.

“Bus Stop” is a place of refuge for those who feel lost; a resting place for those who need a break. Located in a space without public transport, indeed, without roads, the nameless bus stop becomes a point of endless waiting, a metaphorical “forestry object”.

Works situated in such locations are usually only known to the public through photographs.

Right before the opening of the Kandinsky Prize nominees exhibition, the artist installed a video surveillance camera next to the installation, a live broadcast from which is presented in the exposition.
