XI Kandinsky Prize is the independent Russian prize for contemporary art.

 Applications for the XI Kandinsky Prize are accepted in the following three categories:

- «Project of the year» for artworks;

- «Young artist. Project of the year» for artworks carried out by the authors under the age of 35 years.

- «Scholarly work. History and theory of contemporary art» for scholarly works (monographs, dissertations, research papers, scientific articles) on the history and theory of Russian art of the second half of the XX and XXI centuries. And scholarly works with the same period of research, which have part of the study is dedicated to the art of the first half of the XX century (for example, it can be researches «passing through» the Russian art of the XX century or XX-XXI centuries).

The prize fund is distributed in nominations as follows:

«Project of the Year» – 1 800 000 rubles;

«Young artist. Project of the Year» – 450 000 rubles.

In the nomination «Scholarly work. History and Theory of Contemporary Art» –  award is publishing of the book within the BREUS Publishing programs in Russian or English languages.
