The finalists of the Kandinsky Prize 2014 have been announced

The international jury presented 9 finalists from 35 Kandinsky Prize 2014 nominees – three works in each category.

The international jury panel chose the finalists within the nominees exhibition at the second stage of voting. For the first time in the history of the Prize, there have been two sessions and two different groups of the jury. One of the group discussed exceptionally works in the new nomination “Scholarly Work. History and Theory of Contemporary Art”. Each member of the jury voted by personal list of three nominees works. The participants, who gained the highest number of votes, became finalists.

Management of compliance of voting procedures with the rules of the award on the voting day was provided by EY.

The Project of the Year nomination:
— Irina Korina. The Refrain project.
— Lilia Li-Mi-Yan. Masters/Servants.
— Pavel Pepperstein. The Holy Politics project.

The Young Artist. Project of the Year nomination:
— Elena Rykova. The Mirror of Galadriel.
— Timofey Radya. The All I Know About Street Art project.
— Albert Soldatov. Balthus.

“Scholarly Work. History and Theory of Contemporary Art” nomination:
— Victor Misiano. Five Lectures on Curating.
— Igor Chubarov. The Collective Sensibility. Theories and Practices of the Left Avant-Garde.
— Mikhail Iampolski. Gnosis in Images.
