Took part in projects at studios on Furmanny Pereulok (19881989) and the Tryokhprudny squat (1991-1993). Has had over 60 solo exhibitions, actions and performances in Moscow, Berlin, London, Amsterdam, Venice and Milan.

Multipixellation

Following in the steps of Psychedelic Video, that movement in Russian video art that flourished in the time of Yeltsin’s “shock therapy,” Victor Freydenberg shows the visual structure of the Information field and its dependence on chaos. Because the exchange of data and knowledge can only happen with the help of conventional words, even in the digital age, the artist uses hypnotic fractals illustrate the key concepts of “Sign,” “Energy,” “Conflict,” “Sex,” “Information,” “Universe,” and “Eye.” These, according the artist, form the foundation of the entire field of Information. The video Multipixellation shows the artist interacting with his own creation, a sculpture of light and multi-colored, adjustable rectangular modules. Together they play a game of hide and seek. Geometric patterns made with the modules follow one another in rapid succession. Now and then, the artist appears on screen to show us that he is there and remind us of what it is happening. He is creating the symmetry that holds the compositions together with his own hands.
