The Kandinsky Prize 2009 Award Ceremony took place at Barvikha Luxury Village. In spite of a quite distant location of the concert hall, many guests were able to attend the ceremony. A special art train was organized to convey the guests to the place of the Ceremony. The traditional lecture on art this year was presented by Robert Storr, famous art-critic and philosopher, Dean of Yale University School of Art, the curator of the Venice Biennale 2007. The Ceremony was a professional event accompanied with an avant-garde musicians Vladimir Volkov and Leonid Fedorov and specially done videos. All the winners delivered speeches, which touched the problems of the contemporary Russian art and scene in different ways.
