Ivan Gorshkov

Was born in 1986 in Voronezh. From 2009 to 2019 – co-founder of the Voronezh Center for Contemporary Art. Fellow of the Garage Museum Grant Program. Artist of the Year COSMOSCOW 2017. Laureate of the XV State Prize “Innovation” in the nomination “Artist of the Year”.
The works are in the collection of the State Tretyakov Gallery (Moscow) and the Moscow Museum of Modern Art.
Lives and works in Voronezh.

Everything Fountain

The exhibition embodies artist’s body of work and his artistic biography, representing an assemblage of works neatly brought together by a solid logic of the artist’s creative method.
The artist seamlessly combines artistic techniques and materials, textures and scales, while seeking the co-presence of several levels in an image to be viewed and interpreted differently by viewers.
It is impossible to receive a single signal or to extract any specific image, plot or theme from the exhibition. The exhibition unloads itself on the viewer with numerous opportunities for possible reactions and ways of perception.
The exhibition turns on a certain mode of sensory perception, reconciling a person with a monstrous surrounding that is visually rich and diverse.

His works make it possible to better understand how the computer-generated digital environment affects the artistic media and visual languages, how it shapes the viewers’ experience. The artist offers his own vision of new aesthetic possibilities arising in a situation when the methods of manipulating computer data determine the basic mental strategies of a person.
