Authors of the project are artists from Moscow and Nizhny Novgorod. One of the artists works as a curator and teacher at school for photography and multimedia named after Rodchenko, curated projects «Barbarians» and «Semiconductor» during 3 and 4 Moscow biennale for young arts. The other artist is a winner of a grant for emerging artists from Garage Museum of Contemporary Art (2016), prize winner of Credit Suisse bank and Cosmoscow contemporary art fair for young artists (2017) and winner of award for contemporary arts «Innovation» in nomination «Best regional project» (2018). Name Garden

«Name Garden» – is a public memorial complex, built by artists in the courtyard of private crematorium in Nizhny Novgorod. The project deals with one of the humans lif The project deals with one of the humans life’s fundamentals – fear of death. The method often used to cope with fear is «parodoxical intention» – facing the object of fear. Starting out from the attitude towards death
evolution that continued through out the ages, the artists built the territory that designed to establish a new type of relation to the subject of sublime. This subject is treated by the authors as symbolical immortality. In order to make such space, the artists used the newest technologies and worked with professionals n the fields of biolog with professionals n the fields of biology, botany, acoustics and computer programming. The artists concept refers to the culture of natural burials, tradition of ashes’ disposal and eco-cemetaries. The project is presented as a functioning botanical Garden that is going to be transformed in the long term perspective. A part of the garden is an audio installation based on the contemporary ritual forms, ideas of physicality and virtual memory. The lyrics of the musical composition consists of the list with Latin names for internal organs of the human, both woman and man.
The web site of the project gives the possibility for the visitor to dedicate a plant from the Garden to the passed away relative or friend, who is associated with it. The Garden consists of more that 120 types of plants from different natural habitats. «Name Garden» with out epitaphs became a space of virtual memory, breaching the borders of physicality in post-material world
