Constructor for David Hume

In 2020, reality showed us in a particularly sophisticated way how little our assumptions and forecasts about it mean.
All mental constructs that we produce are the selection and adjustment of elements to each other – our erudition, upbringing, hormonal balance, experience eaten at dinner, the amount of sleep, the book read, making friends on Facebook, secret desires, etc. We pile the elements one on top of the other trying to build a picture of the world, just as we used to pile an elephant on a turtle for this.
This idea was somehow formulated by both Plato and David Hume. Only, unlike Plato, Hume does not suggest any way out of the cave – all we know, he says, is just a sequence of observed actions, and not a causal relationship.
We made 24 Towers from random elements accumulated over the years, finding subjective formal, tactile or absurd connections between them. Sometimes it is rather rough leaving the joints, making the glue a noticeable element of the building.
Eternal elements – like iron, and subject to decay and decay – like flowers, tablets, liquids – are forcibly combined into exquisitely eerie Towers, and after a while they will inevitably disintegrate.
Each Tower is accompanied by a watercolor portrait, reminiscent of a sheet from a scientific atlas, where each element is briefly commented on – where it came from. These illustrations fill a person’s need for explanation and form a new narrative.
Each Tower has a significant name – created with a name generator
